Downlights are a more modern design ceiling lights, they are recessed into the ceiling to give you a illuminate area throughout your space. The protection index of downlights is IP20, IP44 and IP65. IP20 downlights 

are generally suitable for indoor use and are the most common lighting products. IP44 downlights can be used in saunas, bathrooms, kitchens or under eaves etc wet space. An IP65 downlight is a specially designed 

downlight that protects against water intrusion and is dustproof. It is not afraid of any conditions and can be used anywhere, even outdoors. The DTC series has IP65.

What is IP65 downlight:

IP is the abbreviation for "Ingress Protection" and represents a level of protection against water, moisture, solid objects, and dust. The first number is a measure to prevent dust from entering. The second number 

indicates how waterproof the device is. IP65 downlight is a waterproof and dustproof light. This means it prevents moisture or small particles or dust from getting inside the light body.

Why can only downlights with IP65 or above be used for outdoors, but not IP20 and IP44 downlights? That's because ordinary LED downlights are very sensitive to water, and water can easily cause electrical short 

circuits and cause safety hazards. Therefore, ideally, you should choose a downlight with an IP rating of at least IP65, a device capable of withstanding water jets from all directions. This means it will be protected from 

stray water jets or rain. Downlights with higher IP ratings provide better protection against water.
